Terry grew up in Alabama and graduated from Jacksonville State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a minor in economics. Later, he graduated from the National Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University in Trust Banking. Terry spent 13 years in trust banking and retired from Pierson Chevorlet, Inc., as chief financial officer in 2012.
Terry and his wife Janice have two adult children: Blake, a high school coach and teacher in Douglasville, Ga., and Josh, who teaches at the University of Georgia. Terry and Janice are active members of Fairview UMC in Centre, Ala., and have taken mission trips to Ixiamas, Bolivia, with SIFAT in the past.
