Mellie Hunt Parrish retired after a 23-year career with Georgia State Government, where she specialized in working with special programs. Her last position was with The Department of Family and Children Services as a Community Resource Specialist providing services in Carroll and Heard counties.
Since retirement, Mellie has continued to use her skills and career experiences as the founder and CEO of New Journeys Consulting, LLC, a business which offers job readiness and life skills training to recipients of assistance at the Clay County Department of Human Resources (DHR). She is a longtime Methodist.
Mellie has previously served as President of the PILOT Club of Carrollton, Georgia, President of Lake Wedowee Property Owners Association in Wedowee, Ala., Vice-President of Randolph County (Ala.) Chamber of Commerce, and completed the Randolph County Leadership Training through the Chamber of Commerce.
She has actively supported the mission of SIFAT for more than 25 years through volunteering, consulting and financial contribution activities, and deeply believes in SIFAT’s outreach and ministry.
