In the beautiful Valley of the Volcanoes, Pastor Rafael and his wife Anita have established an outreach of their Asamblea de Dios church in Villaflora, Quito. Always wanting to care for more children in need, they have expanded their ministry into Machachi, and the growth of this afterschool program has been more than this small church could envision. The program quickly outgrew the existing church building. In 2022, SIFAT teams returned to Ecuador after the pandemic and broke ground on a small three-story addition. SIFAT’s commitment for this 1,453 square foot space was completed in July 2024. By the time SIFAT staff visited in October, the church was already installing the final windows, had tiled and painted the sanctuary addition, primed the second floor walls and were sharing plans to complete the computer lab, kitchen and dining room and music room. How exciting for us to be able to help so many children become part of a program sharing God’s love when in their lives they have experienced so little joy!
