John Brown, a SIFAT graduate from Nigeria, has worked with SIFAT for many years to recommend participants for training and to interview potential candidates. He has also implemented SIFAT training in seminaries in Nigeria. |
Project Funded!Project: To install borehole or shallow wells in as many as 11 villages in the Jipal community in Nigeria. Summary: John Brown knows and is well known by people throughout Nigeria and in other African countries. He will be the key leader in making this multi-well project a success. Two types of wells will be constructed: borehole and hand dug deep wells. In his application, John Brown shared that in 2022, a waterborne disease ravaged the Jipal community, killing children, youth, adults and the elderly. Although John Brown tried to assist, he could not help when the wells dried up. Elders came to him multiple times to ask for a long-term solution. Together, they realized drilling bore holes or deep wells with minimum outside assistance would be the best solution. This will be a multi-phase project, and the community will match funding from SIFAT through self help sweat equity. Project 24-02: Chiefdom Water Project
