Obi leads his church to reach isolated villages in the bush of Nigeria.

Project Funded!

Project:

To provide clean, safe drinking water to the community for disease prevention.

Summary:

Pastor Obi has reached out from his church to minister to isolated villages in the bush of Nigeria. Originally, Obi wanted funds to pay for his deworming outreach ministry. The SIFAT Graduate Project Committee encouraged Obi to look at a sustainable project to find the root cause of the problem of worms — clean, safe water.

The borehole well is targeted to serve the water challenge of a rural community. The community’s main source of water is a from a river, which is very poor quality and not suitable for drinking. It causes several sicknesses found among the community members, including river blindness, bilharzia, skin diseases and typhoid. Having this well for the community will drastically reduce the chances of people getting infected by waterborne diseases.
