Project: To begin a school garden project to teach communities in Venezuela.

Summary:

The Jezreel Garden is a school garden to teach communities in Venezuela to prepare an organic garden with the knowledge acquired by SIFAT graduate Yurima. Yurima has participated in SIFAT trainings in both Alabama and Costa Rica. Skills to be taught include how to make family gardens, composting, mountain microorganisms, solar projects and drying of leaves to preserve nutrients. This project is the first of two phases for the Jezreel Garden. Yurima needs help to protect the land with a block wall fence and mesh, to frieze the walls and place ceramics in the bathroom and kitchen for better hygiene, build a 3 m2 cement base for a water tower to provide gravity fed irrigation, install electricity in the building and make a small tool storage room. After this project is completed, a second phase will allow the purchase of garden tools, seedlings, a solar dehydrator and solar water purifier.
