Learn & Serve Internships
Fall 2017 – May 1018 Learn & Serve (Campus Programs) Internship
SIFAT is seeking two (2) interns for Fall 2017 – May 2018. Interns are college graduates looking to do a gap year at an amazing nonprofit organization that is active around the world. Your internship will incorporate all three of our areas of expertise: Training, Missions & our Campus. You will physically reside on the gorgeous 176-acre campus, learning and participating in all that goes on here (our farm to table programs, our appropriate technology training, our global village and slum experiences). You will experience training in global hunger, malnutrition, contaminated water and more. You will learn what it means to be a missionary in a developing world and you will participate in missions as well. There is no other program like it. Having a love for the outdoors is not a requirement, but is strongly recommended. We are looking for teachable, humble, missions loving college graduates. As missionaries around the world raise their funds, you will also be taught how to raise your own salary. Your housing will be provided.

Summer Farm to Table Internship
SIFAT is offering a 3-month internship with our Farm to Table Garden Program for the 2016 summer growing season. This internship provides a unique opportunity to learn by working in the garden and preparing food in the kitchen at the same time. Working in collaboration with the Agricultural Coordinator and food service personnel, the Farm to Table Intern will contribute to each step of the produce’s life, from building the soil to the finishing touches in the kitchen!
Learn & Serve Summer Staff
Through SIFAT’s Learn & Serve summer training experience, North American youth are provided with an opportunity to experience first-hand how the majority of the world lives. Through experiences and biblical teachings, we encourage students to have a global mindset, and to examine how God wants us to love each of His people in the world, both internationally and locally.
Each summer, God composes a team of people who lead authentic lifestyles to model the calling He has placed on each of our lives through 1 John 3:17. Whether it’s teaching a camper or serving behind the scenes in the kitchen, each person on the team is called to reveal God’s compassionate love to the participants at Learn & Serve. You can be a part of the Learn & Serve summer staff through a variety of ways, including becoming a counselor, worship leader, media coordinator, or a member of our volunteer staff called “flex staff”.
At the core of the Learn & Serve summer training experience is a team of college-age counselors. These counselors lead authentic lifestyles year-round, and during the summer they serve as an example of God’s love to each of the participants at Learn & Serve. Counselors will be leading small groups, facilitating team building activities, teaching appropriate technology, giving testimonies and leading students through simulations in SIFAT’s rural village and urban slums. While leading the students through each of these activities, counselors will support, encourage, challenge, and journey alongside their students.

L&S Worship Leader
Each summer, we strive to hire a worship leader who is authentic, flexible, and most of all, Spirit led. With the nature of the Learn & Serve programming, the worship leader is given an opportunity to be creative in the worship experience. The worship leader will work directly with program staff to create and coordinate effective and engaging worship. Worship is one of the ways staff, students, and leaders recharge, which reflects the vital role the worship leader plays during each L&S session. Additionally, we expect the worship leader to be an active part of camp and interact with the students as much as possible.

“48: A Slum Experience” Retreat Staff
Each year on Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend, SIFAT invites high school age students from across the U.S. to experience life in a simulated urban slum for 48 hours. Through the “48: A Slum Experience” retreat, we strive to bridge the gap between the average American youth and the 1 billion people living in urban slums around the world.
After having the opportunity to experience first-hand the needs of our brothers and sisters, students are challenged to better understand their biblical responsibility to love each of God’s 7 billion people in today’s world.
To make this experience a possibility, we need college-age volunteers to take on the humbling responsibility of representing the people currently living in urban slums around the world. This experience goes beyond its initial purpose to minister to the high school participants. It also challenges the volunteers who make this retreat a possibility to discover what God wants to teach them through this experience. It will challenge, push and make everyone involved uncomfortable, and we believe God will move through this!
L&S Retreat Volunteer
We desire for SIFAT to be an outlet for people to be able to serve and show God’s love through. Weekend retreats throughout the year provide a great opportunity for people to be involved with Learn & Serve, even if only for a weekend! We are constantly reminded of God’s faithfulness as He continues to provide volunteers to make His ministry through SIFAT a possibility. If you are interested in volunteering during a retreat, please email email@example.com
If you are interested in working in any capacity with Learn & Serve and being a part of the work God is doing through SIFAT, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions you may have!
