Learn & Serve: Spring 2013 Around the World Field Trips

Happy 2013! Learn & Serve is excited to begin celebrating another year and looks forward to hosting many groups this coming spring! Spring is a great time to bring a group to SIFAT to engage in the multiple programs Learn & Serve has to offer.  While Learn & Serve offers overnight retreats, an interactive day trip called Around the World is also offered that is especially appropriate for public, private, and home-school groups, as well as families and scout troops.

Reminder for End-of-year Giving

We know many of our supporters want to get one last donation to us for credit for the 2012 tax year. Remember, your online donation must be made before midnight on Dec. 31, and any checks mailed to SIFAT must be postmarked by Dec. 31. If you want to designate your gift in honor/memory of someone, please include a name and address to whom we can send an acknowledgment card. If you would like your donation applied to a specific project, please put the project name on the memo line of your check or in the special instructions section online.

Thank you for your continued support! Without your financial gifts, SIFAT could not exist.

New Campus Bridge Under Construction!

Many of you may remember the news of our suspension bridge (on SIFAT’s campus in Lineville, AL) collapsing this past July during our Learn & Serve Summer Experience. We continue to thank God for his protection of our participants and his provision for our organization after the event. We now have reason to celebrate — a new bridge is under way! A new suspension bridge is being built on our Galilee Campus. The bridge will span Mad Indian Creek connecting our campus once again. This bridge is not only functional, it will also serve as an example of a monumental bridge project SIFAT implemented in Quesimpuco, Bolivia in 2008.

This bridge, in Quesimpuco, Bolivia, is the inspiration for the new suspension bridge on SIFAT’s Lineville, Alabama campus.
